WCA 20-25-25-25, Ashby 25-16-14-18 BARRETT &045; After winning their first game against the WCA Knights, the Ashby Arrows dropped three straight and the match, 3-1. &uot;The girls played a great first game. And then in games two and three WCA started to pick apart our defense and get around the block,&uot; said Arrows volleyball coach Brenda Johnson. The Arrows served at 93 percent, with Alli Balgaard (12/12) and Alisha Sethre (14/14) both perfect at the serving line. &uot;I thought Laura Sundal (13/15, 7 points.) distributed the ball well, and we had some great kills,&uot; Johnson said. Sethre and Megan Schmuck each had eight kills, and Anne Kent had 12. Sundal had 29 set assists. Kent dug out 12 defensive saves, and Schmuck and Jamie Catoe each had seven. Schmuck and Olivia Bratvold each were credited with three blocks. The Arrows travel to Brandon on Thursday for conference play. Parkers Prairie 25-25-25, Battle Lake 18-14-22 BATTLE LAKE &045; The Panthers maintained this season’s strong play as they retired the Battlers in three straight games. Sammi Woida had a big night, scoring nine points, with an ace and 34 set assists. Monica Schmidt served up three aces, gaining seven Panther points, and Amber Anderson served two aces and scored nine points. Sari Noga pulled out 15 digs, and delivered 19 kills, and Jenna Alton had 11 kills. Underwood 18-25-26-27, Henning 25-18-24-25 HENNING &045; The Underwood Rockets won a tough match against Henning, taking three of four games. &uot;The last two games were very close. We were able to able to perform well with the game on the line.&uot; said Rockets coach Diane Ross. Becky Wold aced point 26 in Game three. Down 18-0 in game four, Megan Peterson served to tie the game at 18, serving two aces. The Rockets visit Parkers Prairie on Thursday.
