The biggest distinguishing factor between Anytime Fitness and other local fitness centers will be the flexibility of its hours, Manning said. Members will receive a key card and can come and go from the building as they please, regardless of the schedule of the workers. “We pride ourselves on convenience,&8221; Manning said. “You work out on your own schedule, not our schedule.&8221; The facility will have top-of-the-line equipment, complete with free weights, circuit training, and cardio machines, Manning said. “It’s like having our own personal gym in your house,&8221; Manning said. “You don’t have to have someone looking over your shoulder all the time.&8221; Private showers, tanning beds and locker rooms will also be available, Manning said. What won’t be offered at the fitness club will be a swimming pool, running track, basketball courts and special classes like yoga or aerobics. “The YMCA is probably best for that kind of experience,&8221; Manning said. “That’s just not what we’re about.&8221; Even though there will not always be staff members overseeing operations at the fitness center, Manning said members wouldn’t need to worry about safety. All members, when working out alone, would need to wear safety devices that have buttons connected to law enforcement. If a problem occurred, Manning said the push of the button would notify authorities immediately. He also said the facility would have a security system. Membership rates before the club officially opens will cost about $30 a month, Manning said. After the fitness center is open for business rates will jump to about $35 a month with a $100 enrollment free. Manning said the fitness center would limit membership to about 2,000.
