Unfortunately for the Otters, the Brainerd Warriors had other ideas. A two-run eighth stopped Fergus&8217; extra inning winning streak at two games and gave the Warriors a 5-3 victory. Revering&8217;s two-out fence-clearing homer in the bottom of the seventh sent the Otters into their third straight extra inning home game. The Otters won the first two by identical 8-7 scores. The Warriors ended the suspense quickly in the eighth as Calliegh Johnson walked, moved up on a passed ball and a groundout out and scored the go-ahead run on a single by Alyssa Lewandowski. A fielder&8217;s choice scored Lewandowski with the insurance run. Katie Hohman singled with two out in the bottom of the eighth but was retired on a fielder&8217;s choice. &8220;If we would have just made a few different defensive choices we feel the outcome would have been different,&8221; said Fergus Falls head coach Renee Erickson. Revering had two hits for the Otters while CalieAnn Rittenour had one hit, one stolen base, one sacrifice and scored once. Renberger had two of Brainerd&8217;s five hits. The Otters are 4-8 going into a road trip to Willmar on Thursday.
