A late run by Battle Lake propelled the Battlers to a victory over a defensive-minded Bertha Hewitt Bears squad.

Abbey Evavold delivered a strong all-around performance with 15 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 11 steals for the winning side.

“Bertha’s defense had us struggling early on, but we were able to get the job done late in each half to secure the win” said Battle Lake coach Dave Marso.

The Bears hustle showed in rebounding as well as defense, edging Battle Lake 25-17. However, Bertha was stung by 28 turnovers in the game.
