Rep. Torrey Westrom (R-Elbow Lake) and Sen. Bill Ingebrigtsen (R-Alexandria) will hold town meetings Friday in the cities of Elbow Lake, Chokio, Morris, Hoffman, Evansville and Alexandria.

“This is a great opportunity for folks in our district to meet informally to talk about some of the state and local issues that are being debated at the Capitol this legislative session,” Westrom said.

“In the spirit of a bipartisan, bicameral legislature, Rep. Westrom and I welcome community members to come and discuss their issues with us,” Sen. Ingebrigtsen said. “This is a great opportunity for our district to participate in democracy in action.”

The meeting schedule is as follows:

7-8 a.m. — Heartland Café, Elbow Lake

9 – 10 a.m. — Federated Telephone Cooperative, Chokio

10:30-11:30 a.m. — Detoy’s Family Restaurant, Morris

12:30-1:30 p.m. — Dew Drop Inn Hoffman

2 p.m.-3 p.m.—Evansville School, Community lobby room, Evansville

3:45-4:45 p.m. — Traveler’s Inn Restaurant, Alexandria

Residents of Senate District 11 and House District 11A are encouraged to attend to discuss any concerns they have with both Sen. Ingebrigtsen and Rep. Westrom in their communities.

The purpose of the meetings is for them to make themselves accessible, as elected officials, to the voters.

Also, in this week’s newspapers, watch for a legislative survey sent out by Ingebrigtsen and Westrom asking for your opinion on several of the key issues this session.
