Woodtick Theatre trip nearly finalized

Published 12:00pm Saturday, April 21, 2007

Plans are all set for our June 21 trip to the Woodtick Theater in Akeley. If you enjoy hand-clappin,’ foot-stompin’ musical entertainment, this is the place. The Woodtick Band and all the rest of the gang will be there.

We’re booked for the matinee so we leave the Otter Tail Coaches parking lot at 10:30 a.m. There will be a lunch stop along the way but we’ll be at the theater in time for the show at 3 p.m. And we’ll have a supper stop on the way home.

The cost, which includes transportation and the show, is $27 for members and $32 for non-members. Please register and pay for this trip by May 18.

Checking out next week, we have our Pancake Feed on Monday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. If you’ve eaten our pancakes before, you will be back for more and if this is a first for you, you are in for a marvelous culinary experience.

It’s “happy birthday” time at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, for all of our members born in April.

Make a reservation and follow up the celebration with the meatball noon meal.

It’s the talk of the town so be sure to attend the School Bond Referendum seminar on Friday at 11:15 a.m. and get all of the facts first hand from Superintendent Jerry Ness.

It’s important to be an informed voter. After the seminar, stay for the noon meal featuring creamed turkey.

With the snow gone now and the sun shining so beautifully (finally), it’s time to be thinking about getting the yard work done. The Chore Corps is already taking orders so if you need a little assistance, call 736-6842 to line up some help.

According to Erma Bombeck, “Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation’s compassion, unselfish caring, patience and just plain love for one another.”

On Monday, April 30, at 1 p.m., all Senior Center volunteers are invited to the volunteer recognition at the center. We treasure our dedicated volunteers for their time and talent so willingly given.

A special program has been planned to say “thank you” to these very special people.
