Chinese delegation visits Minnesota, discusses RTC

I would like to thank all those who participated in a recent St. Paul meeting to further discuss a Fergus Falls-China educational program.

Xintao Xiao, vice mayor of Loudi in the Hunan Province, was among those on hand to investigate transforming the Regional Treatment Center in Fergus Falls into a cross-cultural college campus. The Hunan Normal University would act as a sister campus to Fergus Falls, with international business studies the training focus.

The visit strengthened bonds and friendships as we develop working relationships with the players instrumental in transforming the RTC. Another Chinese delegation plans to visit RTC early in 2008. This group will include some leading academic figures, including the President of Hunan Normal University and the senior Vice President of Changsha City University. Both leaders have indicated strong interest in the Fergus Falls project.

I enjoyed the opportunity to visit with the delegation from China during another step in the process of developing a long-range project.
