The generosity of an anonymous donor to cover all costs for a funeral reception following the celebration of life service for 5-year-old Cayden Burud has brought some peace to the Burud family.

“This is wonderful, and hopefully will end any controversy or bad feelings,” Cayden’s mother, Amanda, said this morning. “We can’t express enough our heartfelt appreciation to the person for this generosity.”

The Rev. Steve Hoffman, pastor of Church of the Nazarene and officiant at the celebration of Cayden’s life, received the donation from the anonymous donor. He, in turn, gave the financial gift of $1,260 to Chad and Amanda Burud. This covers the costs for the reception at the Bigwood Center following the service.

“The gesture was one that blesses the family, allows them to focus on Christmas and to get on with the grieving process,” Hoffman said.
