Michael George Lex, 37, New York Mills, died Tuesday at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Lex was injured in an ATV accident Monday, Jan. 5. He was driving an ATV north of Perham, on County Road 53 near Big Pine Lake when he lost control, was thrown from the ATV and rolled into oncoming traffic, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department.
Three guitars stolen
A New York Mills residence was broken into and three guitars and a guitar effects pedal were taken. It was reported to Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department around 7 p.m. Monday. No value amount was available.
Minivan up in flames:
The Otter County Sheriff’s Department came upon a vehicle on fire was around 10:54 a.m. Wednesday on County Highway 1 near County Highway 18 outside of Fergus Falls. Timothy Herron, Fergus Falls, driver of the 1995 Ford Windstar minivan, told deputies he was driving north on County Highway 1 when he heard a pop from the engine compartment. The van then lost power and began smoking under the hood.
Herron was able to exit the vehicle and retrieve some hand tools from the rear of the van before it became fully engulfed in flames.
The Fergus Falls Fire Department extinguished the fire, but the vehicle, purchased four days before and valued at about $350, was a total loss. There were no injuries.
Prescription altered:
A woman allegedly tried to pass an altered prescription for Methadone at Thrifty White Drug around 9:10 a.m. Wednesday to obtain the medication earlier than she was supposed to. The pharmacist took the prescription away and she left the store, Fergus Falls Police Chief Tim Brennan said. The woman’s name cannot be released because she has not been arrested yet, Brennan said, but a warrant has been issued and she could be facing charges of felony forgery.
