Three people were injured in an accident north of New York Mills about 7 a.m. Saturday morning, according to the Otter tail County Sheriff’s Department.
Loni Marie Jensen, 23, Perham, was driving westbound in a 2001 Ford pickup on County Highway 58 near 570th Avenue north of New York Mills. Jensen lost control of the vehicle and went into the south ditch. The vehicle rolled several times. Jensen and the front middle passenger, David L. Jones, 21, Vergas, were ejected. A third front seat passenger, Steven Fineday, 21, Detroit Lakes, was wearing a seatbelt and remained in the vehicle.
Jensen and Fineday were transported to Perham Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. Jones was transported to Wadena Tri-County Hospital, then Lifeflighted to MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. As of Monday morning, he was no longer a patient there, according to MeritCare.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
Hit and run:
A hit and run in the Otter Supper Club parking lot, near Ottertail, was reported to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The suspect vehicle left the Ottertail northbound at a high rate of speed. Officers from Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department, New York Mills Police and Perham Police responded to the scene. The suspect vehicle was located by a New York Mills officer on County Highway 67 south of County Highway 67. The driver, Andy Maijala, 24, New York Mills, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and DWI. He had a BAC of .22. Two vehicles in the supper club parking sustained moderate damage.
