FF park plan developing
Published 6:00am Saturday, March 22, 2008The first Park and Recreation Department comprehensive plan since the 1970s plan is being developed. Public input is vital to the process, Parks and Recreation Manager Rick Terway said.
For that reason, residents are encouraged to attend a public meeting Tuesday, March 25, 5:30 p.m. in city hall council chambers. Information will be gathered and shared at that time.
“We want to know what the people think. This is the time for their input into guiding the future of the park, recreation and forestry department,” Terway said. “The Public is invited to share concerns, wants or needs or things they want to see in our park system. We’re looking for opinions on how we should develop our parks, the programs they think we need and the (trees, other green space) they’d like.”
The meeting has nothing to do with the recently released park and recreation survey.
“That (the survey) is just a piece of the (park) plan,” Terway said. “The park and rec comprehensive plan will be part of the city’s overall comprehensive plan.”
