Fergus Falls police are investigating damage near the Hillcrest football field after the driver of a pickup flagrantly tore up grass. The vehicle later was located along Westside Drive about 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
A male, at the home of his parents, admitted to police that he had been “showing off” to his friends. Charges, if any, will be dependent on the extent of the damage near the football field.
No injuries:
Three drivers escaped injury in two separate vehicle accidents in the county on Thursday. Two vehicles were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highways 34 and 125 and a third individual escaped injury in a one-vehicle mishap near Highways 210 and 29.
The two-vehicle mishap was reported to the sheriff’s department at 3:42 p.m. Thursday. The vehicles were driven by Preston Kawlewski, 23, of Ottertail, and Ally Monson, 16, of Dent. The Monson vehicle, a 2004 Saturn, skidded into the southwest ditch. Kawlewski was driving a 1988 Ford.
The accident near Highways 210 and 29, east of Henning and south of Deer Creek, took place at 1:35 p.m. Thursday. Marie Truax, 77, Deer Creek, lost control of her vehicle which entered the ditch and went another 75 yards before being stopped in deep snow.
