Elaine Anderson, 79, of Fergus Falls died Friday, June 13, 2008, at her home.

She was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Fergus Falls, to Henry and Delilah (Sorenson) Carlson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Episcopal Church in Fergus Falls and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1947.

She married John Anderson on June 25, 1949, at St. James Episcopal Church. They lived in Coos Bay, Ore., for a short time and returned to Fergus Falls where John worked for North Central Airlines. They transferred to Oshkosh, Wis., then to Norfolk, Neb., and finally to Aberdeen, S.D., where they lived for 21 years. They returned to the Fergus Falls area after retiring. John died in 1985.

She enjoyed pastel drawings, reading, flying and traveling; especially to Hawaii where she and John vacationed several times a year. She loved spending summers at Blanche Lake, family gatherings, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Tim) Sporre of Battle Lake; a son, Tim Anderson of Minneapolis; five grandchildren, Jesse, Ty, Chelsea, Josh and Tim, Jr.; and five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kamryn, River, Jenna and James.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service

Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls
