Italian restaurant eyes downtown
Published 12:00pm Thursday, July 17, 2008Italian restaurant Bello Cucina is set to open in downtown Fergus Falls this August. Jason Mueller, the restaurant’s owner, says plans are currently in the works to finalize the purchase agreements. Because of a confidentiality agreement, Mueller would not disclose the restaurant’s new location.
A city official who asked not to be identified said there was reason to suspect that Bello Cucina would replace Jazzy Fox Bistro.
When asked if the Jazzy Fox Bistro will be replaced with Bello Cucina, Jazzy Fox owner Ted O’Connell said he could not comment because of a confidentiality agreement.
If things go according to plans, the restaurant will open to the public sometime during the first two weeks of August.
The restaurant, which currently has a location in Morris, will serve authentic Italian foods with menu choices ranging from soups, salads, pizzas and calzones to pastas, authentic entrées and deserts. Menus will also include a wide variety of wine, martinis and beer.
Mueller, who is also the head chef, says menu items will vary slightly depending on the season. During fall and winter, Mueller tends to put more hearty dinners on the menu. In the summer, more fresh caught fish and locally grown produce will be incorporated.
