Kummrow not seeking re-election; 3 seats open
Published 12:00pm Monday, August 25, 2008Three school board positions will be up for grabs in the 2008 school district election. Starting August 26, school board candidates can file for election at the district office at 502 Friberg Avenue North. Cost is $2.
Long-time board member Tom Kummrow will not be running for re-election. Kummrow has served on the board for the past 25 years.
“It’s time to have somebody else be a part of it,” Kummrow said.
Matt Lemke, who served this term as the board’s chairman is planning to run for a board position again.
Tarma Carlson’s position is also up for grabs.
Board members rotate positions on the school board. Melanie Cole, who has served as vice-chairperson for the past two years, is expected to step up as the chairperson for the upcoming term.
Filing for council and mayoral positions also begins tomorrow and runs through Sept. 9. Information is available at Fergus Falls City Hall.
