Underwood school parents school won’t have to wait around to hear about emergencies or weather-related news that may impact their children.

The Underwood District is one of many across the nation that has subscribed to an immediate alert system for parents, in which parents have the option of receiving information immediately through their home phone, cell phone, PDA or e-mail.

All the district has to do is log on, create a message and it is automatically sent out to all parents through their requested mode of communication.

Registration for parents take place online at the Honeywell Web site, instantalert.honeywell.com. For those who do not have access to the Internet at home, the district is offering the opportunity to use the school’s facilities to create an account.

The Battle Lake District is the only other district in the area offering the Honeywell Instant Alert service. The Fergus Falls district has their own alert system, which provides parents the opportunity to receive updates through e-mail and text messages.
