Eugene Wesley Nelson, 70, of Fergus Falls, died Friday, April 24, 2009, at his home. 
He was born Dec. 4, 1938, in Fergus Falls, the son of Steen and Bertha (Western) Nelson. He farmed south of Rothsay and, upon his retirement, moved to Fergus Falls. 
On April 16, 1972, he married Kathryn Doebbert in Fergus Falls.
Wes was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Fergus Falls, looking forward to each Sunday’s worship and the fellowship with the church family.  He enjoyed his daily devotion time and praying for his family and friends.  Through the years, his faith in the Lord grew stronger and stronger.
 Survivors include his wife; his two daughters, Becky (Kent) Amundson of Fergus Falls and Sandy (Kevin) Linn of Belle Plaine; three grandchildren: Britta Amundson, and Jeremy and Becca Linn; a brother, Birdeen (MaryLou) Nelson of Minneapolis; two nieces and one nephew.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a sharing service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11 am Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Fergus Falls

Interment: Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Fergus Falls
