A 37-year-old Perham woman died Monday morning following a head-on crash along County Highway 8, northeast of Perham, near Big Pine Lake.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as Tristen Lee, who was traveling with two children, a 4-year-old boy and an 8-month-old girl. The children, who share Lee’s address, sustained non-fatal injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver of the second vehicle, Mary Swyter, 59, of Perham, sustained fractures to her ankles and was transported to Perham Memorial Hospital.

The accident occurred around 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of County Highway 8 and the Little Pine Lake access. Officials with the sheriff’s office said icy roads contributed to the accident.

The accident is under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the State Patrol.

Icy roads also contributed to other accidents Monday morning in Otter Tail County, although no serious injuries were reported.

One person received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident one mile west of Dent, along Highway 108. The vehicle reportedly hit a tree on impact.

Another accident took place about 6:30 a.m. east of Henning, at the intersection of Highways 29 and 210. A rollover was reported near the city of Ottertail, about 7:45 a.m.
