County tax hearing Tuesday night

Residents who have questions and concerns regarding Otter Tail County’s budget and levy can discuss it with county commissioners Tuesday.

The county’s Truth in Taxation hearing is set to begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1 at the Government Services Center.

In September, the county board adopted a preliminary 2010 budget of $69.6 million. It also adopted a net county property tax levy for 2010 of 6.92 percent, or $29.5 million.

Commissioners are expected to approve a budget and levy at the end of December. The levy can be left at the level approved in September, or the board can reduce it.
