Semi fire closes 1-94

A tractor trailer caught fire in the westbound lane of Interstate 94 near milepost 67 around 10 a.m. Tuesday, bringing firefighters from Ashby and Dalton to the scene. According to the State Patrol, a 1,000-gallon diesel fuel tank in the trailer did not catch fire but needed to be off-loaded to another trailer. The driver of the semi was not injured. Both westbound lanes of I-94 were closed for approximately half an hour; the right lane remained closed for six hours.
