Chimney fire reported

A chimney fire caused minor smoke damage to a Dalton home Friday evening.

The fire, located at 28873 130th St., was reported around 6:40 p.m., bringing firefighters from Dalton and Ashby to the scene. Firefighters extinguished the fire and cleaned the chimney, staying at the residence for about an hour, according to Dalton Fire Chief Eric Mounts. The house did not sustain any fire damage.
