A Fergus Falls man was found unharmed after he wandered from his home without a jacket Monday evening.

Police initiated a search around 5:50 p.m. after receiving a report a 68-year-old man with dementia and Parkinson’s disease had left a residence on Kempton Court. About 10 minutes later, the man was located by family members in a dry cattail slough about 300 yards from his home. He was evaluated by personnel with Ringdahl Ambulance and released to his family.

It appears the man was outside for about 45 minutes in 20-degree temperatures, according to police. Firefighters who’d been paged to assist with the search were canceled en route.
