UNDERWOOD — Both teams scuffled from the field, but it was the Panthers who escaped with a Little Eight Conference victory.

“It was tight throughout, but we struggled to score,” Underwood coach Curt Olson said. “That was the big difference tonight.”

The Rockets, who lost for the third time in five games, connected on just 33 percent of their shots, which included a 3-for-21 effort from downtown.

According to Olson, Underwood (4-6 overall, 2-2 LEC) also struggled to establish a consistent presence on the blocks.

“We didn’t get much going in the paint,” Olson said. “We had a number of easy shots go in-and-out.”

The Panthers also kept the Rockets at safe distance with strong ball security, finishing with only nine turnovers.

Underwood’s Dalton Jampsa led all scorers with 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Ryan Peppersack tallied 14 points for Parkers Prairie (3-4, 2-1).
