Underwood Lions Snow racing
Published 10:59am Saturday, January 30, 2010The Underwood Lions dropped the green flag on another week of racing Sunday January 24 at 12:30 pm. The wintery mix of weather that we received during the week made for a fast track. The fast track made for especially good racing and watching. The racers didn’t fail and put on a good show for the spectators. The entire crowd was delighted to see Jerry Stewart #12 and his old Packard led in the first heat. You could almost hear a sigh of disbelief when #12 coasted into the pits with a broken drive shift. The rest of the races were very exciting also. The A Feature capped the day off with #59 Matt Bohn and #71 Kent Pekarek changing position several times in the last five laps. Pekarek hugged the inside snow bank to block Bohn and take the checkered flag. Jacob Holmgrem 42 in the Juniors class and Nick Peterson 61 in the Kids Class kept their unbeaten seasons alive. Come joins the Underwood Lions Iceracers on Bass Lake on Sunday at 12:30 and let us entertain the winter away.
