Family puts out home fire
Published 7:22am Friday, February 5, 2010Fergus Falls firefighters were called to the home of Raymond Murdock at 806 S. Woodland Drive at 7:38 p.m. Wednesday
The Murdock family was in the basement family room of their home when they began to see and smell smoke.
Murdock investigated the home’s utility room and discovered that the home’s electric hot water boiler control box was on fire.
He put out the fire with a fire extinguisher and called 911.
When firefighters arrived, the fire was out, but the basement was still very smoky.
Firefighters ventilated the basement and left in an hour.
No one was hurt, and there was some minor electrical damage.
