Wadena man gets prison after bus windows shot out
Published 11:25am Saturday, February 6, 2010A 21-year-old Wadena man has been given a five-year sentence on charges that he shot out the windows of moving school buses with an air pistol. No one was hurt in the incident.
Timothy E. Mindermann was sentenced in Otter Tail County District Court on a charge of second-degree assault.
Prosecutors say that in March 2008, Mindermann was driving on Highway 29 when he met three oncoming buses. Prosecutors say he fired an air pistol out the driver’s side window and shattered the bus windows.
Shortly after he was arrested, Mindermann told The Associated Press he was playing with the air gun in his lap when it went off accidentally.
The buses belonged to the Wadena-Deer Creek School District.
