Area sex offender missing

The whereabouts of a Fargo man registered as a serious sex offender is unknown after he removed a GPS monitoring device from his body.

Thomas Jose Eppler, 24, a former Frazee resident, has been missing since 2 p.m. Monday when he reportedly cut off the monitoring device.

Eppler was convicted in North Dakota of sexual assault in April 2007. He is considered a high-risk sex offender.

Eppler is described as a white, five foot seven inches tall, 172 pound man with brown eyes and blue hair.

Eppler was also convicted in Otter Tail County in 2007 for burglary.
