15 Destiny Drivers are a leap forward

After 13 months, Forward Fergus Falls has rolled out the news the community has been waiting for: It’s Destiny Drivers.

It’s an ambitious list of community initiatives to be sure.

Imagine the economic impact of creating 100 jobs a year for five years? Or the image our community would have being a leader in telecommuting?

It’s exciting to envision improving the rate of high school graduates going on to college to 90 percent — or increasing M State enrollment 10 percent over the next five years.

Fergus Falls is a leader in cancer care and making our medical campus a leader in orthopedic care is a realistic goal. So is establishing two bio-related businesses over the course of the next five years.

Forward Fergus Falls is right on the mark in supporting an expanded riverwalk along the Otter Tail River, and seeking a 20-percent increase in the use of bike and snowmobile trails.

Through the process of developing its 15 destiny drivers members of Forward Fergus Falls have learned what makes Fergus Falls tick and has also learned what challenges lie ahead in making those destiny drivers a reality.

It’s going to be hard work.

But we believe the right community leaders are on the job.
