Enjoying all that Fergus has to offer

Published 12:15pm Tuesday, August 31, 2010

It was almost two months ago that I made the trek from Bloomington to Fergus Falls, hauling a trailer filled to the brink with a bed, couch, table, desk, chairs… you get the idea.

Somehow all that stuff made it into my apartment and after a few weeks, the place looks pretty lived-in (but still clean, of course).

I may still feel new to town, but I’ve settled in to the place nicely, and Fergus Falls residents have helped with the transition immensely. Every time I meet someone new, they smile, shake my hand and welcome me to town.

So far, I’ve enjoyed many things Fergus Falls has to offer. During a weekend I came up to go “apartment shopping” with my mom before I officially made the move, she and I enjoyed the scenery while we walked along the river. Since then, I’ve shopped downtown, bought a latte at Cafe 116 and took my first bike ride on the Central Lakes Trail.

I hope to enjoy all of those and more again and again. Thank you to all of the many people who have welcomed me to Fergus Falls since I arrived.

What are some of your favorite things to do in Fergus Falls? Now that summer is ending, what are some fall and winter activities you enjoy?
