Has television really come to this? [UPDATED]

Let’s say theoretically that I watched Shark Week on Discovery Channel and thought that it really sucked. Then later in the night I watched Cash Cab and got all bent out of shape because I got all the questions wrong. I then tried to cheer myself up watching Mythbusters, but those crazy mustachioed guys couldn’t dispell the myth.

What a bad night. What am I to do?

I tell you what I’m not going to do.

I’m not going to burst into the suburban Washington headquarters  of The Discovery Channel waving a handgun with canisters strapped to my body.

But that’s what James Lee did today. Reports are that he burst into Discovery’s headquarters and took three hostages because he was upset with the programing at the channel. After a four-hour standoff he was shot and killed.

I wonder if Lee ever saw the programing over at NBC, ABC, and CBS. That should have really driven him up a wall!
