The Otter Tail County Coalition of Lake Associations (OTC COLA) will host a special forum for the candidates for MN Senate Legislative Districts 10 and MN House Legislative Districts 10A and 10B.  A town hall style “Meet the Candidates” Program will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Community Center located at 103 Lake Avenue in Ottertail, MN and will immediately follow a brief business meeting that begins at 9:00 am.

“This will be a great opportunity to hear from the candidates about their views on shoreland and surface water issues”, said Shawn Olson, President of the OTC COLA, “the lake residents owe it to themselves to participate and ask questions.”

By holding this Non-Partisan Candidate Forum, the OTC COLA is not participating in any one political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any one candidate for public office.  Candidates will be addressing questions specific to our state’s surface waters and its shoreland.  Marian Bender, the Executive Director with Minnesota Waters, will serve as Moderator.  Each candidate will have an equal amount of time to speak towards the same question.

All questions will be pre-screened by the Executive Officers of the OTC COLA to prevent redundancy and promote a broad array of concerns and the candidates will respond to questions that are selected in advance by Executive Officers of the OTC COLA.

Those that want to participate should submit all testimony, questions, comments or concerns in writing to Coordinator Shawn Olson before the deadline, either in person, by mail or by email as follows:
