Gregory A. Neppl, 54, of Underwood
Published 9:41am Friday, October 8, 2010Gregory A. Neppl, 54, of Underwood, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Gregory Allen Neppl was born on June 29, 1956, to Kenneth and Neva (Ellsworth) Neppl in Breckenridge. He grew up on a dairy farm by Kent, and continued to farm with his dad after graduating from Breckenridge High School in 1974. He was later employed with Beyer Farms and then Vern Ulven Farms.
Greg married Candace Jorgenson Anderson on March 22, 1991, in Watertown, S.D. Greg attended Detroit Lakes Technical School in the heating and cooling program for two years. He then went to work for Ripley’s Inc., of Erhard.
He was employed there for 17 years until he was unable to work due to his battle with cancer.
Greg was happiest when he was able to spend time at home with his family and friends. He especially treasured the time spent with his grandchildren. Hunting, camping and any time spent putzing around in his work shed also provided many valuable memories.
Greg was known for always helping anyone who needed help. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Underwood.
Survivors include his wife, Candy; six children and their families, Kent (Amber) Neppl, Kadin, Quinn and Paxton of Maddock, N.D., Ryan (Lisa) Neppl, Bennet, Griffin and Cooper of Hutchinson, Tausha (Dan Christensen) Anderson, Riley, Kyler, Reece and Rhody of Battle Lake, Nick (Jill) Anderson, Hannah and Lily of Fargo, N.D., Alicia (Harry Gerard) Anderson and Brooklyn of Elbow Lake, and Abby Neppl of Erhard; four sisters, Brenda (Curt) Hirschkorn of Moorhead, Kim (Brian) Arnhalt of Kent, Linda (Tony Andreen) Neppl of Perham, and Sue (Mitch) Monson of Pelican Rapids; father and mother-in-law, Gaylen and Ethelyn Jorgenson of Erhard; sisters-in-law, Valerie (Bob) Braun of Marshall and Michelle (David) Randall of Park Rapids; one brother-in law, Kent (Teresa) Jorgenson of Underwood; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his father, Kenneth Neppl and mother, Neva Neppl.
Visitation: One hour prior the service at the church
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Underwood
