A win 20 years in the making [UPDATED]

I didn’t see this coming at the beginning of the football season: Rothsay got a win before the Otters did.
When I looked over football results Wednesday night and say the letters R-O-T-H-S-A-Y  I had had to look twice. Rothsay was reported as winning 34-24 against Norman County West.
Yes, it was a win 20 years in the making. Don’t get me wrong, Rothsay hasn’t lost football games for 20 years. They merged their football program with Barnesville years back and resumed playing as the Rothsay Tigers just this season.
What an emotional win for a team that has lost 41-0, 20-8, 68-6, 49-0, 37-8, 71-0 and 55-14.
As a matter of fact, the Tigers had been outscored 341-36 heading into Wednesday’s game and came just two points short Wednesday of matching their combined points for the entire season.
My hat goes off to Coach Andrew Oland and his team.
Their first win with a combined 434 yards rushing will be a game for the memory books!
