Four people were injured on Thursday morning east of Elizabeth when two vehicles collided in the intersection of County Highway 10 and County Highway 27.
According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department, Matthew Eugene Patrick, 42, of Erhard, was driving south on County Highway 27 in a 2004 Nissan Sentra shortly before 10 a.m. With him in the car was Jane Marie Patrick, 40, as well as a 17-year-old, an 11-year-old and another passenger who has not been identified.
Meanwhile, Jeanne Bernadette Marty, 40, of Underwood, was driving her 2008 Ford Escape west on County Highway 10. Marty told sheriff’s deputies that she stopped at the intersection of the two roads, didn’t see anyone and proceeded to cross.
As she was crossing, however, she struck Patrick’s car on the left rear passenger door, causing it to slide into the southwest ditch. Marty’s SUV stayed on the roadway.
Marty, Jane Patrick, and the two juveniles all reported minor injuries, Marty to the shoulder and the other three in the abdominal area. The four were transported by ambulance to Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, where they were treated and released.
