Assault charges filed in beer mug beating [UPDATED]

Instead, he took multiple shots to the head with a beer mug on January 20 at the Hideout Saloon and Grill in Dalton.
Now Adam Schlosser, 25, Brandon, is facing felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon for causing substantial bodily harm to the unsuspecting pool player.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Otter Tail County District Court: Roen was playing pool in a side room at the Hideout. He asked Schlosser to move so he could take a pool shot.
As Roen leaned over to take his shot, he received several blows to the head with a glass beer mug. He fell to the floor where Schlosser allegedly continued to strike him.
Court records show that Roen was hit five to seven times with a beer mug and sustained four serious lacerations that resulted in him receiving nine staples to his head and 14 stitches.
When deputies arrived on scene they found the victim leaning on a bar stool holding paper towels to his head with blood running down his forehead.
Schlosser fled the scene in a truck after the alleged beating. He was later contacted by sheriff’s department investigators. When asked about the attack Schlosser allegedly made a simple statement: “What can I say. I hate meth.”
Schlosser told investigators that he was solicited to buy methamphetamine. That’s why he was mad. The victim told authorities he was not the one who propositioned Schlosser.
Schlosser is also facing charges that he gave investigators a false name, birthdate and ID. During the investigation he led officers to another individual in the region with a similar name but different birthdate. A warrant was eventually issued for Schlosser’s arrest.
