Innova Industries Pee Wee B’s Play Outside Game [UPDATED]

Innova Industries Pee Wee B team traveled to Wadena, Saturday, to play their first ever outside game. With the tornado last summer destroying the ice arena, the Wadena people put up boards on the existing rink, moved in trailers for locker rooms and put up a scoreboard and made a beautiful outdoor rink to play their home games.

The temperature was ideal. The players and fans participated in a tailgate party prior to the game and celebrated coach Muxfeldt’s 20th birthday. The game started with Wadena scoring first then :43 later Jack Vaughn took a pass from Dyson Thacker and beat the goalie to tie the game. Wadena scored two more then at the 5:52 mark, Alex Evenson stole the puck and beat the goalie to make it 3 – 2. Innova Industries tied the game at the 3:45 mark of the first when Thacker scored on a breakaway to make the score 3 – 3.

In the second period Wadena scored two goals before Bryce McGary scored on a hard shot from the point with the assist going to Vaughn. The second period ended 5 – 4 Wadena. Thacker tied the game in the third period taking a pass from McGary and beating the goalie stick side.

The score stayed tied most of the third period then with a few minutes to go, Wadena scored and the Innova Industries put together scoring chances but could not find the back of the net and the game ended 6 – 5 Wadena. Jack Angus had 31 saves in goal. Innova Industries are coached by Marc Bye and C.J. Muxfeldt.

On Sunday, Innova Industries hosted the Fargo Raiders. The first period was scoreless. Innova Industries got on the board first, in the second period, when Evenson made a nice pass to Thacker to one time it past the goalie.

Fargo scored next, then at the 10:24 mark Evenson score on a breakaway beating the goalie with a five hole shot. Fargo scored the next two goals and the period ended 3 – 2 Fargo. In the third, Innova Industries tied the game when a shot by McGary from the point rebounded to a perfectly positioned Thacker who beat the goalie for the score.

Fargo scored two goals then at 4:03 Thacker notched his hat trick with the assist going to Vaughn and Evenson. Fargo added two more goals late and the game ended 7 – 4 Fargo. Angus made 31 saves in net.
