Fergus Falls firefighters prepare to enter an apartment at 461 Second Avenue at about 9:30 a.m. this morning (Friday) after a fire was reported at the location. The apartment, and another at 463 Second Avenue, were evacuated so firefighters could ventilate the units with fans. Firefighters found damage to an electrical conduit and insulation in the ceiling. The decision was made to pull down the ceiling in the apartment unit to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown, but it is believed that it started in the kitchen.
