Perham advances to section finals in OT [UPDATED]

PERHAM — A close game was expected when Perham and Hawley met in the Section 8AA section semifinals Saturday night in Perham. And they delivered.Bridget

When the final buzzer sounded in regulation time the Yellowjackets and Nuggets were tied at 54-54.

But Perham took care of business in overtime, striking first and never looking back on its way to a 65-59 overtime win that sealed a date against Pequot Lakes Tuesday night at Park Rapids.

Jordan Anderson and Jordan Hein scored two big field goals and the ‘Jackets took care of the rest of their business at the free-throw line to outscore the Nuggets 11-5 in overtime.

The first half was pretty even as Perham pulled out to a 27-22 halftime lead. With starting point guard Jordan Bruhn out, Hein, Anderson and Mike Wislow came in off the bench for 29 combined points.

Mark Schumacher had 14 rebounds, nine in the second half.
