The Fergus Falls 14U and 16U volleyball teams had great weekends with the 14U winning the Breckenridge tournament and the 16U team taking second at the University of Minnesota Morris’ Cougar Challenge.

The 14U girls were able to knock off a difficult Fargo South team to claim their title.

The 16U girls had a very exciting tournament as they went 5-1 in pool play and making their way into the gold division of the tourney.

After breezing by Henning in the semi-final game, the girls took on Wheaton’s 15 team, which was their only loss in pool play.

It was an intense matchup as the 16U girls fell in the first set. But the fight was not over as the girls battle back in a close set winning 26-24.

The final set did not go as planned as Wheaton was able to hold on to the game winning the last set in a close 15-13 battle.

“I was very proud of the way the girls played today and am excited to see how they will improve throughout the season,” said coach Abby Scheel.

16U’s team members include Kristina Fritz, Laura Gaustad, Jordan Harworth, Morgan Hensch, Brooke Rogelstad, Mary Sanders, Kristin Traise, and Leah Tysdal.
