After a long winter, residents in Otter Tail County savored temperatures of 70 degrees Tuesday in many areas of the county. While somewhat warm for this time of year, the 70-degree mark fell 13 degrees short of the all-time high temperature of 83 degrees on April 12. That reading dates back to 1931, in Fergus Falls.

“Temperatures in Fergus Falls hit 75 degrees in both 1941 and 1968 on April 12 of both years,” said Jim Kaiser of the National Weather Service.

The weather will turn colder, however, with rain and possibly snow in the forecast for Thursday evening and into Friday. Thursday’s high is expected to be 45 degrees with a reading of 42 on Friday.
