The search is again underway for a new superintendent for Perham-Dent Public Schools. Mike Kolness of Ada-Borup, previously selected to replace the departing Tamara Uselman, decided to remain in his current position at Ada.

Uselman, who will assume duties July 1 as superintendent at Bismarck, N.D., said the Perham-Dent school board is again heading the search for a new superintendent.

“The board, as a whole, is well in command of the process to hire a new superintendent,” said Uselman this morning. “They know the application process very well and will select the best person from the list of finalists.”

Perham-Dent also will have a new high school principal. Current Principal John Rutten will assume duties this summer as a school administrator in an international school in Saudi Arabia. His wife, Cheryl, will teach in the international school.

Assuming duties July 1 as new high school principal at Perham-Dent will be Ehren Zimmerman, currently in the Rothsay school system. Zimmerman has worked nine years in Rothsay and served as both principal and activities director.

Rothsay also is searching for a new superintendent. Supt. Mary Donahue Stetz has been hired by Walker-Hackensack-Akeley to become superintendent in that district.
