A Henning mother and son were injured Monday in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 29.

Patrick Despard, 41, was driving his Chrysler Sebring north on the highway, about one mile north of Parkers Prairie, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. As he was driving, he had a seizure and lost control of the vehicle.

His mother and passenger, Susan Despard, 65, grabbed the steering wheel and turned to the right to avoid hitting southbound cars. The vehicle ran off the road and into a field, causing minor injuries to both Despards.

The two were transported to Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria for treatment.
