FERGUS FALLS — Fergus Falls police have been fielding calls about a live Canadian goose that has a blow dart in its head.
Fergus Falls Police and DNR oficials say there have been futile attempts to catch the goose and pull the dart out but no one can get close to it.
Troy Richards is a conservation officer with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. He says as of right now the plan is to leave the goose alone. He says it appears healthy and is able to move around and feed.
Because the goose is mobile, authorities say it’s not clear whether it was shot in Fergus Falls or elsewhere.

go out and help the goose it is in pain i have seen the goose it slams its head from left to right trying to remove the dart.
we need a pic this is bs it has a dart in its face
I know this goose as Blow Dart and I feel that the city of Fergus Falls should be able to take of the our feathered friends that they have helped to make urbanized. These one goose is one of many I have seen hurt, unable to fly, defeathered, and/or have walking with a limb or swollen foot. If we make places for them within city limits like Lake Alice, Riverfront Santurary, and Grotto Park .And change them into city dwellers we need to take care of them and help out them when they are hurt. I have see blow dart and he does have eating problems to feed him . I have give small bites of bread or cut up fruit very small for him. The dart is all the way through his mouth and if I can get him to eat out of hands why can’t the DNR catch him and get the dart out .The dart was not a result of hunting the goose for food but to hurt the goose. If Blow Dart was a stray cat or dog in Fergus Falls it would be helped given treatment ,food , and taken care. Blow Dart should get the same treatment as a city dwelling animal. He can be helped and be released back to the River Front Santurary,in Fergus Falls, where he calls home.I worry about what to do when I see a injuried duck or goose. But I feel that these city dwellers that we urbanized deserve the love and care we hoped for them when we planned to made Fergus Falls their home.
the dnr dont care they dont want a goose to ruin their holiday weekend.but if you want to shot a goose with out a hunting license then they will protect the goose or maybe they are protecting the money that pays for their paid holidays and retirement.
