Items stolen from shedPublished 10:51am Friday, June 3, 2011
A man called the sheriff’s office Wednesday to report that some property had been stolen from his storage shed just north of Perham, but law enforcement may have some of his items waiting for him.
The man, who lives in Florida, told the sheriff’s office that several items, including a pop-up tent, a director’s chair, a tool bag and more, had been taken from an unlocked shed near the intersection of 475th Avenue and County Highway 8. He said the items had been stolen between October 2010 and May of this year, and their worth was estimated at around $550.
However, the sheriff’s office performed a search warrant in the county last year on a burglary case, and they believe some of the items recovered in the warrant may have been stolen from the shed. The man and investigators will check out the items to see if they match up with what was stolen.
There is a suspect in the case, but the sheriff’s office won’t release the name until the items are positively identified.Tags: burglary
