Two headstones were discovered damaged at a Rothsay cemetery on County Highway 11 on Saturday after a car spun out into the property.

The damage was discovered at 7:15 a.m. A car (which had since driven away) had appeared to spin out on County Highway 11 and enter the cemetery’s southwest corner, hitting two headstones. An investigating deputy also found evidence on a roadway between Rothsay and Erhard that the same vehicle had been skidding and spinning out all along the road.

It is not known who was driving the car.
