A Henning man was put in jail on a warrant Sunday after allegedly violating a protection order and assaulting an ex-girlfriend earlier in June.

Joshua Ben Anderson, 25, was charged on June 15 with felony domestic assault and domestic abuse by violating an order for protection. A warrant was issued for his arrest after he could not be found.

Court records report that a woman who had previously been in a relationship with Anderson had called the sheriff’s office on June 4 to report that Anderson had, in the last two days, twice violated an order for protection she had against him. The second time, he had refused to leave her Vining home before she went to work, and when she returned home from work several items were gone, including toiletries and an amplifier.

On June 4, the woman allegedly went to Anderson’s father’s home, where Anderson was at the time, and attempted to get her amplifier back. However, the record stated, she said Anderson had thrown her away from the amplifier before throwing the amplifier into the back seat of her car and then shoving her back into her own car’s driver’s seat. He then allegedly tried to shut the door on her, but her foot was in the way, and she injured her leg when he tried to shut the door.
