A Lakeville man was charged in Otter Tail County District Court Monday after he allegedly punched a man hard enough to fracture his jaw.

Samuel Lee Gilles, 25, was charged with third degree assault after Perham police responded to a report of a fight involving Gilles at a home on Second Avenue Southwest, just before 4 a.m. Friday, according to court records. When police arrived, they were told that Gilles, who had left the scene, had been involved in an argument with two other men. One of the men was kicked in the face, and the other was punched in the face, causing him to fall to the floor.

Gilles was arrested later, and he allegedly denied striking anyone at the residence.
