Featuring events such as the Blue Ox tractor pull, golf scramble and fireworks, this year’s Dalton SummerFest kicks off Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The all-you-can-eat walleye dinner will open the festival at 4 p.m. Friday at the Dalton Cafe.

This will be followed by beach bingo at 7 p.m. at the Dalton Community Center. Prizes will include meat bundles for grilling by JC’s Meats and summer accessories, said SummerFest organizer Teri Zender.

On Friday night, Weathered Wood will perform from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. for a dance at Hideout Saloon and Grill.

Saturday’s events will begin with the Dalton Gophers 4-H pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. at the community center.

One of the new additions to this year’s SummerFest is the Dalton Outdoors youth shoot, said Zender. Kids will take aim at targets and sporting clays, testing their archery, rifle and shotgun skills from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The Blue Ox tractor pull will take place at the threshing grounds beginning at 12 p.m. In case of rain, this event will be moved to 12 p.m. Sunday.

Train rides will be given from noon to 3 p.m. at the threshing grounds.

The seventh annual Stalker Lake golf scramble starts at 10:30 a.m. Teams can register at 9:30 a.m.

“One of the things we are really proud of is that we are still having fireworks,” said Zender. “We’ve continued to raise enough money for the fireworks, and there’s hundreds of people who come from all over to watch.”

The fireworks show will begin at dark at the ball park.

The Saturday night street dance, featuring Fire Water Burn, will take place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m at the Hideout Saloon and Grill.
