Henning school levies up for renewalPublished 9:18am Friday, June 3, 2011 Updated 11:19am Friday, June 3, 2011
Two levies for Henning Public School, approved nine and 10 years ago, are up for renewal later this year. School district residents will cast their votes on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
If the levies fail, the school district will lose about $142,800 next year and $212,800 the following year, in 2013. All told, said the Henning Citizens Advocate, levies previously approved by voters generate $355,600 for the school district each year.
Proponents of a yes vote this fall say the levies are important not only for the short term but also for the long term interests of the school district. A school bond will be paid off in 2014.Tags: Henning
