A Big Lake woman was transported by air to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale Sunday after sustaining a serious injury in a crash south of New York Mills.

Rebekah Morris, 19, was driving west on State Highway 10 and tried to cross the eastbound lanes as she turned onto State Highway 106, state patrol reported. As she turned, her Dodge Neon crossed in front of a Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by Renee Gillespie, 48, of Coon Rapids. The Trailblazer pushed the Neon into a ditch before running off the road itself.

Morris was taken to North Memorial, and Gillespie was taken by ambulance to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
